Ten-lead neutral phenolic foam, say no to corrosion, with same life with the building.
The production material of phenolic foam is mainly the component A composed by phenolic resin,
emulsifier, foaming agent and component B curing agent .
Component B Curing agent is mainly a variety of acid solution. The acids can be divided into two
kinds: organic acids and inorganic acids.
The inorganic acid as the curing agent mainly sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and organic acids are
mainly a variety of sulfonic organic acid acids, such as p-toluenesulfonic acid, methyl sulfonic acid.
In applications, generally the phenolic foam need to touch with metal, cement mortar and other medium
like the duct surface aluminum foil, steel, sandwich panel and building insulation used polymer cement
mortar, and a variety of metal anchors and so on.
After long-term observation, some phenolic foam after the use of one period of time may do corrosion
to metal parts and delamination with cement mortar, especially in humid environments.
Why does some phenolic foam occour corrosion to metal parts easily?
Mainly because use different acid as the curing agent.
The acidity of the inorganic acid is very strong, it is easy to react with the metal.
However, the acidity of organic acids generally more moderate, not easy to react with the metal.
That's why Ten-lead company insist on to use the organic acids as a curing agent and
bear more cost on it to ensure safe quality for many years.
That's also why there are a lot of phenolic foam sold in much lower price in the market.
In order to resolve the problem and confusion may be occoured to clients, Ten-lead make efforts
to develop out the neutral phenolic foam products with PH value of 4-6.
However, the PH value of normal phenolic foam in the market is 1-3.
How to read PH Value 4-6?
Take the drink beer as example, the PH value of the beer is around 4, the cans is made of aluminum,
so Ten-lead neutral foam also can say no corrosion.
How to tell the PH value of the phenolic foam?
Using the PH value testing paper to know the PH value very easily.
Tips:
1 Prepare pure water, phenolic foam, PH test paper;
2 Discover the top facing of the phenolic foam board and expose it or open the board foam ends
3 Use the possible tools to manage the foam wet and drop some water on the surface of the foam to observe
the color change
4 Compare with the standard color paper to know the PH value finally.
